There’s something to be said for having a noisy bird as a County emblem, they let you know they’re there! While watching nesting Shag on Lion Rock a distinctive call gave away a Chough feeding on the top of the rocky island last weekend.

Insight: According to the RSPB “In the eight breeding seasons 2002 to 2009, 46 youngsters have fledged from Cornish nests”.
