Hummingbird Hawk-moths in Cornwall

with No Comments
The weather continues to be unseasonably warm here in Cornwall and migrant butterflies and moths are still around in good numbers.

Hummingbird Hawk-moths are one of the species commonly being seen and the caterpillars and moths that emerged in early August from eggs laid by earlier migrants can be seen on the Hummingbird Hawk-moth page.

Having first arrived in late Spring it would be interesting to know how many of these fabulous day flying migrant moths being seen now are the offspring of these earlier migrants or more recent arrivals.
