Over wintering Stick-insects

with No Comments
Despite sub zero temperatures a fully grown Unarmed Stick-insect was found in our garden this afternoon.

Here, in the far south west of Cornwall, this is the first cold spell of the winter.

Malcom Lee of the Phasmid Society informed me that there were unusually high numbers of reports of these naturalised insects in December and into January.

It will be interesting to see how many survive this cold snap.
