Birds on Falmouth beaches: Stonechat

The holidaymakers may have gone but Falmouth’s renown sandy beaches are still full of life. Recent storms have left piles of seaweed washed up on the sand and several bird species can be seen feeding amongst it on insects.

On Swanpool beach, as well as two Black Redstarts, Rock and Meadow Pipits and several Pied Wagtails there was this pair of Stonechats busy flitting amongst the dog walkers.
