with No Comments
During the last few days there have been as many as 6 Blackcaps in the garden. Throughout the summer there had been a single pair but overnight several appeared feeding ravenously on the berries of a variety of shrubs but in particular those of the Dracaena palm.

Insight into Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla): a summer migrant warbler to most of the UK. In recent years increasing numbers from the continent have been recorded overwintering in gardens, parks and woodland.

The adult male have black caps and the female and immature birds have brown caps.
