Butterflies

Click on the link below to see a short video of Small Tortoiseshell butterflies feeding on heathers in the sunshine in the garden yesterday. There were up to four of these beautiful butterflies at any time, all feeding furiously on the nectar.

Insight into Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae): It is possible to see them in all months of the year in the UK and in late summer they will build up the fat necessary to see them through hibernation.
