with No Comments
Several Mottled Grasshoppers have been seen in recent weeks while visiting Cornwall’s north coast sand dune systems in search of rarer species such as Stripe-winged Grasshopper (Stenobothrus lineatus).

Insight into Mottled Grasshopper (Myrmeleotettix maculatus): common throughout most of the UK wherever dry, well-drained open habitat can be found such as low cut grassland, chalk downland, heaths and sand dunes. They are a small species between 12 and 19mm with clubbed antennae and a deeply indented pronotum keel.
