Lockdown has meant so many of us have been restricted to our gardens during this grim pandemic.

However, amongst all the gloom it’s great that we are showing more interest in our own garden wildlife.

A surge of enquiries, particularly from young familes and gardeners, asking for identifications has been welcome news.

Although it has meant all my time has been spent trying to help with identifications, with little time to add any latest sightings and content to species pages.

Some really fascinating sightings continue to be received from around the world, which I can’t wait to add to the site. When time permits the most interesting will be featured in latest sightings, species pages and the galleries. So please keep sending them.

In the meantime the Caterpillar galleries and how to rear caterpillars may help you with your caterpillar queries. Garden butterflies likely to be seen are featured in the The butterfly gallery.

Keep safe.
