Insight: There are three different gorses found in the British Isles: Common Gorse, also known as Furze, is widespread although not found in the Scottish islands, Western Gorse (Ulex gallii) which is in western (!) Britain and East Anglia and finally Dwarf Gorse (Ulex minor) which is very local in south-east England.
