Only found in south-west England. They are rare and sensitive to disturbance so are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act. The Cirl Bunting Reintroduction Project is attempting to re-establish a self-sustaining population of Cirl Bunting in Cornwall. The joint venture between the RSPB, Paignton Zoo, the National Trust and Natural England started in 2006. |
